Boavista and Académico of Sal will contest the final of the Cape Verde Football Cup at 16:00 this sunday, in the Stadium Verzea. The two teams had repectively beaten Académica of Fogo and Batuque, by a score of 2-0.

Académico of Sal were the first team to reach the final when they beat Batuque 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in the heat of the Stadium Verzea.

In the second game the two teams started the match trying to win. Boavista were the first team to go close, but the Académica of Fogo fought back. As the game developed it was Boa Vista that gained the upper hand and they were worthy winners with a score of 2-0.

On sunday Boavista and Académico of Sal will contest the final of this the second the second biggest football occassion in Cape Verde.

Boavista have won the Cape Verde Soccer Cup by beating Academia of Sal on Sunday. Félix scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute however Boavista dominated the last the twenty minutes of the game. The only goal was contested by the players of Academia of Sal who alleged that Felix had handled the ball before scoring. Thus Boa Vista become the national football champions.

That is great news ,thanks John.I really enjoyed watching a game at the Stadium and thought the standard was very good.Apparently Boa Vista and the other smaller islands tend to lose their better players to the likes of Sal and Santiago, so this result is all the more sweeter!
